Ireland’s low-cost airline Ryanair cancels four destinations from Budapest due to weak demand, CEO Michael O’Leary told a press conference on Tuesday. Ryanair it will fly no more between Budapest and Chania (Crete), Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Trapani (Sicily, Italy) and Rhodes.

  • unfortunately Ryanair canceled over the last 2 years very important routes to Rhodes Island like Bremen in Germany.Budapest would have been a highlight as a direct connection and now this has been removed again before even it started.I heard some rumors that the council of the commercial office did’nt paid out the agreed amount to Ryan air and me personal i’m very sorry,as i depend with my business on low cost flights as many others on Rhodes Island. The question is how to improve?

Claudia, Ryanair’s route cancellation from Budapest has to do with the Hungarian economic crisis (we’re not alone in this) and the collapse of their national carrier. The company change routes very often in their quest to make money in a very competitive market. They also cancelled their routes from Budapest to Spain.
