As the number of Russian tourists in Rhodes is growing rapidly, there is a trend between tourism professionals and shopkeepers to learn to speak Russian. Similarly, a few decades ago, the massive Scandinavian and specially Swedish tourist descent on the island convinced many Rhodians to learn the Swedish language.
