Thomas Cook, Europe’s second biggest travel firm, announced that revenue fell 9% in the three months to June 30, blaming the uncertain economic environment, the impact of the volcanic ash, the World Cup and the good weather in the UK. TUI Travel, owner of Thomas Cook and Europe’s largest travel operator said that overall, the industry bookings were down around 10% over the summer.
