A wildfire that broke out on Wednesday at 8:30 pm in a forest area near the village of Embona was successfully contained yesterday late evening. Strong winds quickly spread the wildfire through the forest of Kunaràs covering the area from the outskirts of the village of Kritinia to the village of Embona. The direct involvement of forestry firefighter forces contained the damages and rescued one of the most beautiful forests in the region. The total damaged area is estimated at about 600 acres, while the prosecuting authorities are investigating the possibility of an arson.
