Sales of luxury holidays to Greece have been performing well despite the economic crisis, according to Olympic Holidays commercial director Photis Lambrianides. “As it has done since the start of the recession, the five-star hotel market in the eastern Mediterranean is continuing to show great resilience in the face of economic pressures” he says. Sheraton launched its first property in Greece this spring with the opening of the Sheraton Rhodes Resort at Ixia, with rooms set to be around the 120 €-a-night mark. The Ixian Grand, in the same location is a good option for a luxury week in Rhodes for under 1.000 €.
