Taxi & transfer fares in Rhodes

Taxis in Rhodes are a very common way of transportation. There are several taxi and transfer companies operating on the island, offering services on a 24h base. You can arrange extra services like sightseeing and archeological sites tours and easily book an airport or port pick up.

The fares are based on the distance and calculated with the taximeter. They are regulated throughout the island. There are also set-fares, arranged in advanced, particularly if you opt for service like an airport pick-up.

There are different taxi stations and stands throughout the island, most of them though are located in the town-center. Also some of the largest hotel resorts usually have a taxi stand close to their location. The map below lists the most common taxi stand points.

Things to know

Taxis in Rhodes are very safe, well regulated and monitored. They are hard working people. In case your driver is being rude to you or tries to overcharge you can report it to the police. For the statement your taxi receipt, the date of your journey (and time if you can remember it), the taxi number and your driver’s ID number will be required.

Tipping a taxi driver is not compulsory but welcomed. If you enjoyed the service offered, you can add a small tip.

Taxis don’t offer a baby seat, but you can bring your own free of charge.
