Contained decline in arrivals for 2012

According to the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE), international arrivals at Greek airports dropped 2.5 percent in the first nine months of the year. The number of passengers arriving from abroad declined to 10.3 million from 10.6 million in the same period a year earlier, as the European economic crisis continued to crimp spending on travel.

SETE is moderately optimistic about the next year’s predictions. Arrivals in September showed a changing trend with only a slight decrease (-0.2%) when compared to the same period last year.
