Crisis in the tourism sector?

The world wide economic recession has its repercussions to the tourism sector. During the month of September a marked reduction of incoming tourism was observed in major European destinations. Greece reports a 4,8% decrease in flight arrivals in total while Spain reported reported a -2,2% at the Balearic islands, the Canary islands had a whooping fall (-9.0%) and Cyprus a -3.2% in total arrivals.
It is the time for the tourism industry to offer better deals to the holiday buyers and better services (better value for money). Holidaymakers should change their habits. Why buy a package holiday in August when you can get the same package at half of the cost in May, June or late September and October? Greece and in particular the islands offer at least 6 months of great weather.
