On coming Sunday, November 7th 2010, we’ll have the 2010 Regional and Municipal Elections in Greece. Candidates should not run under the official support of the parties, but form independent electoral platforms established for this purpose. The elections will mark the application of a new reform in the local administration organization called Kallikratis, aimed to provide more power and resources to the local authorities. There is no doubt that these elections come at a crucial point. We’re in the mid of an extensive economic crisis, created solely by the Greek political and economic establishment, while the trust to the country’s political leadership has almost completely evaporated.
