The Grand Master’s Palace closed.

According to a yesterday’s announcement from the 4th Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities, starting from today Friday April 4th, the Palace of the Grand Masters will remain closed for an undefined period as urgent restoration works are needed. Built in the 14th century, the Palace is the most visited monument on the island of Rhodes, attracting more than 200,000 visitors a year. It will remain closed probably for months, to repair areas where large stone blocks tumbled to the ground last month after the rains.
